10 May 2008 - OB Report from Dewi Sant School, Rhyl
On Saturday, May the 10th, the hospital radio outside broadcast schedule officially started with the team attending the Spring Fair at Ysgol Dewi Sant in Rhyl.
Tony Mannix and Andy Hayes were on duty throughout the day, keeping the crowds entertained and informed on everything that was going on, including the competitions, donkey rides, stalls, and games. The emergency services were also in attendance. Youngsters had the chance to sit in the lifeboat and even go for a ride in the fire engine. Tony had the chance to practice his singing and dancing, and Andy used the opportunity to practice speaking Welsh!
The event was held in order to raise as much money for the school PTA as possible, to fund the forthcoming school trips and more resources for classrooms.
The weather was dry and warm, and there was a great, friendly atmosphere all day.
The day concluded with the grand raffle draw, where lots of prizes were given away.
